Frigiliana (approximately 10 minutes by car)
The village has a small supermarket, a range of local grocers and wine merchants.
There are a variety of shops selling gifts, local craftwork (jewellery, ceramics and leather goods) and produce - the village is renowned for its local sweet wine and olive oil. The opening hours in the local shops are approximately 9 am to 2 pm and 5 pm to 7 pm. Part of the experience of the holiday includes adapting to this relaxed way of life. There is a small market every Thursday morning in the main square (below). Nerja (approximately 20 minutes by car)
The town has a much wider range of shops: clothes, shoes, gift shops and also several supermarkets. The supermarkets are open every day ( except Sunday) and carry a good range of food and drink (wine in particular).
Nerja has a large outdoor market on Tuesday mornings. El Ingenio/Eroski Hypermarket
This a shopping mall situated near Velez Malaga, midway between Malaga airport and Nerja. It has a much larger supermarket, a department store and a range of other shops. There are several restaurants and a good tapas bar for snacks.
It is conveniently situated just off the N340 motorway, with ample parking. |
