Frigiliana is a traditional Spanish pueblo blanco (white village) situated 4 miles from the coast, to the north of the nearest town Nerja, in the foothills of the Almijara Mountains at the edge of the Sierra Tejada National Park.
Like any typical Spanish mountain village it is very compact, about a mile long, so all of its attractions are well within walking distance of the village centre.
The villa is just a short drive away in the adjacent countryside.

There is an attractive square at the centre of the village - the site of the weekly market. Much is made of the historic part of the village, and interesting walking tours are available explaining its Moorish origins.
This is a working village centred around farming and tourism. These activities blend surprisingly well and the atmosphere is relaxed and friendly. There is a good mixture of shops selling gifts and local produce, and a wide range of cafes and restaurants.
 Around every corner there are wonderful views of houses laden with flowers and the rugged mountains beyond.
Surrounding the village are traditional terraced market gardens - thick with olive and avocado groves.
